DRAMA

So I have put everything on the back burner. We have had a lot of things happen and has not been for the good. I strongly believe in KRAMA. Well it has hit us. I recently lost, quit or whatever you want to call it my job , because I had found the "Job of My Dreams" you may have also heard if it sounds to go to be true it is...I found that out the hard way. I put my 2 weeks in at Lowes thinking that I have made a great choice that would help my family with the amount of money I would be making. WRONG My so called "friend" that offered me the job, called and told me that he would not hire me because I have kids in which he new the whole time. So I found the guts to call Lowes and ask for my job back, well they said that they can't take my 2 weeks back because they have not let other employee's do it so it is only fair which i agree with. So here I sit with no job and stress out my back end that is not good.
What I am getting at is how supportive Chris has been (like always) with me trying to find another job. He has been the hand that is holding me up. I can't think of any other person that would do the same for me. He has recently pickup cycling and with that him, his brother and sister just completed a TRI at DayBreak and the received first place. Looking back I have made a lot of bad chooses and I feel that quitting Lowe's has been the hardest one yet. Mom tells me that she did not feel good about me taking that other job so she but my name on the pray role And that this aloud a higher power step in and kept me safe and I look back and not all that was said and or done with this job added up. So I am looking for work and it is not to easiest journey that I have on but I have learned 2 things is how much I love Chris and when is sounds to good to be true it is. Oh and I guess your parents are always right.....

I guess it is time to update..

A lot of thing have happened in the last couple of month. We are now living with Chris Garndma to help her out. The boys are enjoying the summer. And I am just doing it one day out at a time. Chris and I are starting to ride bikes and I guess that puts us in with the rest of the Blair Packer Family. Crazy how one person starts something and we all follow.

The best way to come home!!!

Today I worked 11-8. When I walked in the door my house was spotless and there was dinner on the table. Chris is the best husband in the world. The boys were watching a movie and were already fed. There is no better way to come home!!!! Thanks honey I love you.....

Crap....

Here are a few pictures

So on Tuesday I get up and start on my normal workout and I like to switch off on the type of stuff I do so I can get my whole body in shape. So I decided to start with some yoga to get me warmed up. I was about 15 mins into the workout, when it was time to do the lung while holding your arms out and standing still for 20 seconds, I was talking to Jackson and was trying to get stable when my back foot rolled forward and I tried to twist so that I would not hurt myself. Well that did not happen as you can see. So I am only able to do abs and arms for the next 2 weeks and then I can try to use my foot again. I did tair some ligaments but nothing broke.

Sweet!! It keeps rolling off DOWN 22 LBS

I am so tickled to share that I am down 22lbs. I was scared that with the holidays it would the other way around. I tried so hard not to eat junk food and it paid off. This is the hardest time of year with having the family's that I have that are some of the best cooks in the world. What a way to start the new year off!! WOW I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE IT..... I have never stuck to something like this before and actually see results.

Time for Sub for SANTA

It is that time of the year for giving and not just receiving. Every year we as a family find a family of kids that wont be able to get any gifts. Chris and I have decided for the 2ND year not to get each other a gift. Instead we will spend that money on teaching our kids on importance of helping others during this time of year. This year I had a co-worker with a close friend that the husband lost his job awhile back. He has one now (which is good) but they are so far behind we stepped up and told them we would take care of there Christmas for the kids. They have four kids at the age of 6 girl, 4 boy, 2 boy, and a 2 month old boy. So off one night to the store with our 2 boys for the shopping of the Gifts. We told them what we were doing before we left so they would understand. We allowed them to pick out all the toys for the 3 older kids. I picked out the baby stuff and the clothes. We made sure and got some toys to wrap, a toy from the big guy that comes down the chimney(since that is what kids will remember the most), and a new outfit to wear. This year we had some generous help from Mike and Laura Lance( my parents) they got them a new set of pajamas for them to open on Christmas eve. and to wear for the night. We feel like we did a great job this year (as you can see from the picture).Yes and I am proud to announce that Chris's parents chose to help out with food. They bought them a Turkey, eggs, bread, muffins, milk, pineapple, oranges, potatoes for a nice meal on Christmas day. It looks like a lot but there is 4 kids to take care of. We enjoy doing this as a family and know one day our kids will truly understand in what we have chosen to do each year. We are very proud of our parents to choose on there own without being asked to pitch in. It was there choice and example of life on why Chris and I do things like this. We couldn't have asked for anything better. We hope you all have a good Christmas and a Great new year. Best wishes and remember to PAY IT FORWARD.

Mind over Matter rocky road

This was in taken in June 08

This was taken 3 weeks ago.

This was taken today 11-6-08

So I don't rememeber when I updated my mind of matter. But I know that it has been a few weeks. So I have tried not to weight myself more then once a week but it is hard. The last week it was kind of scary. I was due to weight in at work, and I did on the first day it opened. There was a 5 days period in which you could weight in, so I thought that I would do it before I forgot. And of course after I do that I gained 2 lbs back, I weight myself today and I have lost a total of 9 lbs. I am so happy that I have stuck with this new life style. I am posting pictures to see if you can see the changes. I can see it and thats all that matters.

A night of Fun

Wednesday I had made some chicken pillows for dinner. The boys have never had them before and they both were very hungry. We started eating and all of the sudden Jackson jumps out of the chair runs for the bathroom. Chris and I really did not think anything of it cause he has done this before. When he eats something that he doesn't like he runs to spit it out in the bathroom. This time it was different he was in there longer then normal. Chris gets up and goes in and checks on him and he is choking. Jackson is able to breathe and talk so we thought that he has Schatzki's ring, which a few people on Chris side of the family have this. I will give you a little run down of what it is. Schatzki's ring refers to an anatomical narrowing in the lower one-third of the esophagus. In early development, the lumen (center)of the esophagus becomes completely obliterated and the reopens to form a hollow tube. A failure of this process leads to a ring which partially blocks the end of the esophagus and then stuff will get stuck in the ring and you are not able to swallow.
Jackson has had a few issues when he was little where we thought that he might have it but then it stopped. So poor buster was in the bathroom trying to get it out. And Chris is telling him what he needs to do to get it out. Jackson was not able to understand the concept on how to get it out. He started to show signs of weakness from trying so hard. This is when I started to get scared. So we decide to take him to the hospital. Chris told him what they do to get it out so he was scared. On the way to the hospital Jackson said "mom are they going to cut me open" I told him no that he would be a sleep while there getting it out. He sat there for a minute and then asks "mom how will I swallow the pill to make me go to sleep" I told him not to worry about it. I did not want to tell him about the IV.
So they check us in a room after waiting 30 mins in the waiting area. And it took them another 45 mins before anyone came into the room. I guess that it is not a big deal when you can't swallow. The doctor comes in and I told him that I don't want them to give him any muscle relaxers cause they have not worked on anyone. So the doctor and I decided to just go in with a scope and get it out. So he goes and checks to see if there is a doctor available to work on Jackson for his age. Just my luck there is no doctors that feel comfortable to work on him. So they told us that we needed to go to PCMC. So they get it all set up so once we get there they can rush him right in. So I call Chris and told him what was going on and he wanted to come up there with us but I did not want Corbin to go. So Lynda comes and gets Chris and Corbin and we meet at 1300 w and 9000 s. Chris gets in the car and we are just turning onto 90th and Jackson says "it's gone" Chris and I look at each other and then ask him what do you mean. Jackson said " I can swallow see" he took an big drink of water and Chris and I were happy that it passed on its own. I guess I jumped the gun, next time I will let him try longer to get it out. And I hope that there is not a next time.

Update on Mind over Matter

So I have been so regular on my working out and drinking a lot of water and eating no "JUNK FOOD". I am still so excited and I look forward to working out each day. With all my hard work I have lost 8 lbs. It is so great to see the pounds coming off. I know I still have a lot of hard work a head but I am looking forward to the challenge.

Mind Over Matter........

So I really don't know what to call this blog. It's like something hit me in the head and woke me. It is kind of funny cause my sister-in law Sue just finished a walk to Disney land which her whole company received step meters to track the mileage. Which of course she made the mileage however its sad to say she did not win the grand prize. But is it really about the prize or is it for yourself? So about 1 year ago my work started the Life track program in which they also handed out the cheapest step meters the could buy and gave to everyone. So of course I know that I am over weight so I decide for whatever reason to try it and see what happens. Well the dumb step meter kept resetting on its own so I got made and quit, just like every other weight loss thing I have tried. My work decided to change the program a little in the middle of summer. Which it had stuff on the internet there to help you in your life with all types of things like quitting smoking, quit drink, weight los. Basically had things that to help you improve your way of life. I would log on and they had quiz's you could take and receive points. And with these points you can pick prizes and of coures they are like "All A Dollar" items so again it did not catch my attention.
September was a really bad month for me. I have severe anxiety and it went sky high. There were days that I could not get out of bed. I could not breath. I was sick. It started taking a toll on me and my family. So I had to do something about it. I call my Obgyn cause I had surgery in July and I thought that it could be my female organs. All the blood work came back normal and of course I was hoping for the easy way out. So I went to my medicine doctor to see if we need to make some changes to the meds I have been taking. So he switched a few things around. And I started filling better. But there was something that was bugging me and I could not figure it out. So I started looking up stuff on the Internet to see what I could find and I didn't really find anything. So still filling a little down. I went back onto that life track page and there was a weight loss challenge between all the regions which there are 21. So I was done with what I needed to do at work one day. I started messing around and got this idea to sign up for the Life Track Program. I figured it would last about a week or so and then I would not do anything with it. That's when it all hit me. I am not happy with myself and that was the main reason I was feeling this way.
So the first thing I did was give up soda pop, which if you know me I always had a soda with me. I was not looking forward to the caffeine headache for the next 3 days but it was so wierdd I only had one headache. I also subsituted drinking alot of water for whatever reason it was like my body wanted the water more then anything else. I maintained drinking a lot of water. I cant stand the water that we have at are house. So we buy the packs from costco I have been drinking at least a 1/3 of the case of water a day and I am still doing it. The next thing I decided is well it is a nice day so I will try to go for a walk and I did. When I got home my leg was killing me. Which then I got the thought in my head I will not do that again. The next day there was something that kept telling me get up and go for a walk or turn on the fit channel and do a workout. I have been doing it just for little over two weeks since all this has started. I told Chris that I will not buy a scale cause your weight can go up and down some much that it would just make me want to quit. Well I bought one... I told myself that I will only weigh myself once a week. So the other day I decided to get on it and see to see if anything happened. But I was shocked I have lost 4.5lbs. I was so excited that I kept to something and was able to see results. I am eating healthier with no junk food. No munching through the day. And I have been constant to my exercising and I am feeling the best that I have felt in I could not tell you how long. So I guess why I titled this blog Mind over matter is this is the first time I have stuck to something and look to forward to whatever happens, and the only thing that matter is I am happy!!!!!!

First day of school...

Yesterday was Corbins first day of school. Yes it is nice to have both boys in school but it is hard when the last one leaves the nest. When I picked him up he was on cloud nine. He could not wait for Chris to get home to show him what he did, So he asked me to take a picture and send it to him.

Wow what a man !!!!

So I had a party last night. And Chris was such a big help. He helped me out by cleaning the house on Tuesday and on top of that he made cookies. And they were a hit. I am so lucky to have such a great friend and most of all the best husband!!! He such a good dad. The boys always love to spend time hanging out with him. I love you so much Chris thanks so much for what you do for me.....

The newest member of the Packers

On monday August 4th 2008 at 5:15pm Miss Oakley Packer was born. The happy parents are Cory and Mickelle and big brother Austin. She weighted in at 7lb 13oz and 20in long. I love you Miss Oakley!!

Jackson is 8 !!!

Jackson turned 8 in July 27th and received a lot of gifts, which has be great for me. His favorite gift is Mario carts Wii and he loves to play with his uncles online. He is such a great big brother and has showed Corbin how to play, which I have been able to read the Eclipse and take it easy to heal. It is so fun to see him grow up to a great person.
